The essential thong sandal.

TETHYS features a wide footbed with a balanced foam base. Firm for support, soft underfoot. Fitted artisan-woven straps and a moulded anti-slip outsole make for a secure, stable step, all day.

Handmade in the Mediterranean, developed with over 90% bio-based sourcing, including natural latex rubber and sugarcane foam.

Your sandals may feel snug at first, this is intentional. The natural woven yarn stretches and moulds to your foot over the first few wears, like breaking in leather or denim, for a fit that becomes your own.

If you are between sizes, the larger size is recommended.

Behind TETHYS

The silhouette that started it all.

Before the Mediterranean, there was the Tethys - an ancient ocean that once separated Europe, Africa, and Asia, then in closing drew the three together.

The footbed’s three eyelets are joined the same way, by the upper straps that cross above them. A structure that gives the sandal its name.

TETHYS is the thong sandal, distilled: artisan-woven straps, a wide bio-foam footbed, a sculptural rubber sole. The most universal shoe there is.

The woven straps soften with each wear, settling to the shape of the foot. Worn everywhere the day goes, and the hours in between - easy from the first step.

Personalisation

Each pair can be personalised by hand on the footbed.

A name. Initials. A date. A place. Or any detail that carries personal meaning.

Every marking is pressed in our Paris studio using bronze tooling by Maison Alivon, crafted in Paris since 1812.
The oldest, and last remaining, maker of bronze typefaces in the world. Set in their signature No. 676, a modern sans-serif.
